Authorisation
How to check an electrician or a plumber’s authorisation
Denmark splits ordinary handiwork from work on fixed installations. Fixed electrical work needs an autoriseret elinstallatørvirksomhed. Fixed plumbing and heating work needs an autoriseret VVS-installatør. The authority is Sikkerhedsstyrelsen. Their site has the authorisation register. Search the firm name or the CVR from the profile.
What the register is for
A listing in this catalogue is not an authorisation. The catalogue repeats CVR and phone numbers. The authorisation is a separate fact. Ask the firm: har I selv autorisation, eller har I en autoriseret med? (do you hold it yourselves, or do you bring an authorised person?). The answer belongs on the invoice.
Roofing, painting, cleaning, garden work and locksmith visits do not use that same register. They still need a CVR on the invoice. Door and lock firms on the locksmith lists are not presented here as authorised electricians or plumbers.
A job that mixes trades
A bathroom or a kitchen often needs a builder, an electrician and a plumber. One invoice from a main contractor is fine if the authorised firms are named. If nobody will say who holds the authorisation, do not treat the quote as complete. The questions to add to a quote are on written quotes.
