How to hire an electrician in Denmark

Electrician is elektriker. The English lists repeat the Danish electrician lists firm for firm. The page does not claim anyone answers in English.

Work on fixed installations has to be done by an authorised electrical firm. New circuits, the consumer unit and an EV charger sit in that group. Ask whether the firm holds the authorisation itself or brings an authorised person, and get that sentence on the invoice. Check the firm at sik.dk before you pay a deposit. The CVR number on the invoice should match the firm you looked up. How to read a CVR number is on the CVR page.

In cities the drive is often inside the hour rather than a separate line. Ask anyway: er kørsel inklusiv?

A message you can send

Hej. Jeg bor på [adresse]. Jeg skal bruge en autoriseret elektriker til [tavle / stikkontakt / ladestander]. Kan I give en fast pris på mail, og skrive om I selv har autorisation? Venlig hilsen [navn] [telefon]

That asks for a fixed price by email and asks the firm to say whether it holds the authorisation itself.

If you only need words for the phone, start with jeg ringer om en elektriker and spell the street name. Street names stay in Danish on the lists. For a rented flat, new fixed wiring is usually the landlord’s decision. See who pays.
