Gardeners

How to hire a gardener in Denmark

Gardener, in the lists, is have (garden and landscaping). The Danish word for the work itself is havearbejde. The firms are the same as on the Danish garden pages. Expect the reply in Danish.

The extras that are not in the hour

havearbejdegarden work

grenebranches

fliserpaving slabs
drændrainage

arbejdslønlabour, the part a service deduction can follow

An hourly price without haulage is not a finished bed. Say what may be left on the drive and what must leave the property. Machine time, felling a tree and driving the green waste away are usually extra. Ask the firm to mark cables before they dig.

Labour on ordinary garden maintenance can fall under servicefradrag. The ceiling this catalogue recorded for 2026 is on the deduction page, dated 18 September 2026, and the eligible list lives on skat.dk. Haulage fees and machine hire are not the same line as labour. Ask the invoice to separate arbejdsløn.

A message you can send

Hej. Jeg bor på [adresse]. Jeg skal have hjælp til [hæk / bed / fliser]. Skal grenene køres væk, eller må de blive? Kan I sende et skriftligt tilbud, hvor arbejdsløn står for sig? Venlig hilsen [navn] [telefon]

That names the job, asks whether branches are hauled away, and asks for labour on its own line.

Season is short in spring. If you call, say jeg ringer om havearbejde and the week you need them. Garden work inside a rented house depends on the lease. Cutting a hedge the lease assigns to you is different from building a new terrace the landlord has not approved.
